A simple guide (10 points) on drawing opportunities towards you as a Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur
When it comes to opportunities, taking action always seems like the only way to get things done. Chasing and grabbing before you lose it and regret, is usually the mindset most of us adopt. It sounds like a very good strategy and society applauds the notion of taking action and making it happen. This also very easily leads to so much exhaustion and burnout. I’ve often subscribed to this thought as well until of course I too applied the strategies of manifestation. But manifestation is not about ‘simply attracting’ but ‘transitioning your mindset’ in my opinion and experience.
As someone who does believe in Energy Psychology and the way energy works in our lives, especially when it comes to opportunities, possibilities and success, I realize that just taking action doesn’t work if we don’t focus on a lot of other variables that are required to bring in opportunities in our lives. When we don’t pay attention to these variables, we’re just chasing and chasing can bring in so much burnout and fatigue, especially for Highly sensitive people.
Based on the concept of ‘attraction’ I tweaked my mindset a bit and made changes in my approach and my energy accordingly. This required a bit of patience and to be honest, a lot of faith in me but it helped me every time. I wanted to share these with you just to help you along with all the hard work you’ve been doing.
Consider this a simple guide to help you attract opportunities without really compromising your values and by taking a step back.
Setting your standards – It’s such a simple thing to consider but when you actually get to it, that’s when you start to feel a bit lost. Not to mention this part does bring out a lot of resentment towards the past sometimes, the choices we made when we didn’t know any better and each time we settled because we assumed that this is the best we can achieve or aim for. I definitely feel that that the higher you aim and set your standards accordingly you start to behave accordingly. Your approach shifts a bit and even your accountability becomes better improved. In a nutshell, you start to take yourself, your desires, your goals and your life a bit more responsibly.

Know what matters most – The people who always seem to be attracting and achieving tend to practice essentialism. The art of prioritizing what matters and what will help and in this moment versus what isn’t going to help at all. This concept of only focusing on essential instead of everything under the sun, helps to strengthen our focus and we tend to be more in charge instead of feeling as if we’re ‘all over the place’ eventually feeling tired, irritated and frustrated. This obviously doesn’t help us attract opportunities, in fact it takes it further away from us. Knowing tends to bring a kind of confidence that works for us mindfully, calmly and positively.

Preserve your energy – As a HSP I no longer feel guilty for being very picky and choosy. I understand now that I’m not for everyone and I find comfort in the idea that not everyone is for me. I can choose and I can also decide. But I did feel guilty about this a while ago and in trying to accommodate everyone I felt my energy drain and I started to lose perspective. I realized that maybe its okay to not accommodate everyone. By being picky and choosy I’m not becoming ‘arrogant’ or ‘egotistical’ but I’m only preserving my energy. I also started applying this at work, and it helped me create and offering that was more holistic but also it wasn’t for everyone.
Journal – Do you feel your energy is being drained or leaking somewhere? Are you spending more time with people who don’t add value in your life or forcing yourself to accommodate people you don’t resonate with? If you had to pick and choose, who and what would you choose?
Energetic boundaries – Sometimes it’s not possible to fulfil all obligations and expectations but we still do it or atleast try very hard to do it and ultimately, we drain ourselves or no longer feel enthusiastic about things that are important. Especially when it comes to HSP, because they tend to absorb other people’s energies and take time to recover, it becomes vital to draw up these boundaries. In my experience boundaries help us focus better and we can clearly stay in alignment with our goals and dreams thus resulting in better opportunities coming our way.
Journal – What are the boundaries you feel you need to draw around you so you can stay in alignment with what is important and essential right now?
Being receptive – As a HSP it’s normal to give and offer even more than expected, but when it comes to receiving, we can be a bit hesitant. However, when it comes to opportunities it is important to also feel comfortable to receive without questioning it. Being receptive gives a feeling of worthiness and confidence and it also helps us ask for what we truly deserve instead of simply settling. Being receptive is a kind of confidence that’s subtle and silent but also very powerful and magnetic.
Journal – Is it easy for you to give or receive? How does it feel to be receptive?
Feel free to stand out – Its important to be approachable and blend in but when it comes to opportunities it always helps when you try to stand out. It doesn’t mean to pretend or do something over the top but it means to pave your own path instead of simply following the path that’s chosen before. Its important to be inspired but equally important to know what makes you different from the rest of the crowd and this uniqueness helps you attract more opportunities towards you.

“In a heavily saturated world today, where do you stand? What Is so unique and different about you? How do you stand apart from everyone else? What draws people towards you?”
Be real – Being real or genuine is about being who you are without worrying about being judged. The kind of confidence that you experience by being genuine helps you achieve a lot more than you do when you put up a front. You feel less exhausted and free. Being real is about believing in your values, your ideas, your abilities, your potential, your knowledge, so on and so forth. When you feel comfortable being who you are you tend to show up that way and that helps you attract opportunities that align with your goals and intentions.

Practice less complaining and more appreciating – One of the biggest ways opportunities tend to turn away is when you don’t pause to appreciate more of what life has to offer and only focus on what is lacking. Lack attracts more lack. Appreciating can help you feel more relaxed and less impatient. You automatically attract the best opportunities when you are calm. Appreciation also leads to a sense of optimism and confidence which helps you attract more of what you truly feel good about.
Journal – What are you focusing more on, appreciating or complaining? What would you like to appreciate more of in your life right now?
Revisit your beliefs – To be able to get the right kind of opportunities it’s important to know your mindset. It’s important to pause and understand the narrative you often tell yourself. The things you’re often telling yourself are slowly becoming your beliefs and these beliefs happen to run your show. Your mindset and perspective even though subtle can often tell you so much about your patterns and the changes you need to make accordingly.
Journal – When it comes to the opportunities that you’re trying to attract, what is your mindset? What beliefs do you have and what beliefs do you need to change?
Relax your expectation and redirect your attention from the outcome – Opportunities come a lot more effortlessly when you don’t have too many expectations and try to have patience as and when required. Paying very close attention to the outcome can create a lot of obstacles in your confidence. It tends to create a vibe of desperation that can create a lot of self-doubts and you start to give in to your limiting beliefs not to mention the feeling of impatience and impulsiveness. When you instead focus on having faith, that can help you feel more in charge.
