I’d heard a while ago that there are no ordinary moments in life. When something big or unexpected happens we’re often unprepared to deal with it. We try to cope with it in our own way. Sometimes we just try to let go and get on with life in the best way possible and they’re all healthy ways to go about life, but I feel that this also gives us an opportunity to delve deeply into what we can’t see on the surface level.
In today’s day and age to keep on moving is always considered a safe option and perhaps that could be true to an extent. I however feel that this is also robbing us of slowing down and catching up with what is going on internally, within us.
In the world of manifesting and spirituality, our external world is a representation of all that is going on within us. You must have heard healers say this often, you don’t manifest what you want but who you are. And that I believe to be very true. I have always believed that we create our own fate and our destiny and it’s important to understand what narrative are we constantly playing in our minds. Even if you’re not a believer it’s safe to say that your mindset plays a vital role in how you live your life.
Chaos is something that we often unconsciously choose and it then becomes our fate. We never stop to question it and we don’t feel the need to challenge it. We become comfortable with it and naturally, it doesn’t occur to us that we can change it. We find ourselves saying things like, ‘Such is life’ or ‘must be my fate’ or ‘I’m just one of the unlucky ones’ or ‘Maybe it’s not meant for me’.
In my opinion, fate is just an excuse. Why is it that we often get certain things so easily but for most things we just don’t seem to get what we desire? Why is it that certain narratives that can be regarded as negative play out so beautifully in our lives but the ones we hope to be positive are just impossible to even think of let alone being played out?
Isn’t it baffling to see that the narratives that are negative and unhealthy for us play out just as we predicted them? But we don’t pause to question this and we often tell ourselves or convince ourselves rather by affirming it and saying things like, ‘See, I knew this would happen, I am unlucky’ or ‘Didn’t I say this would happen, I am unloved’ or ‘I knew this was too good to be true, I am unworthy and never get what I desire’.
The reason this works almost miraculously is because we’re so attached and comfortable with the limiting beliefs that are rooted within us. We constantly succumb to what our inner critic reminds us and therefore what goes on in our inner world, happens to reflect in our outer world and we call it fate, destiny, luck, and so on.
When was the last time you stopped to question all that happened to you?
What are you really afraid of?
What changes are you afraid of making?
In my experience personally in my life and with having worked with clients on this, I believe that we’re somewhere playing it small when it comes to our mindsets, we tend to procrastinate when it comes to thinking about what we do want and deserve because we don’t fully have faith in our own potential. We don’t question our mindset that comes from a place of lack. We find that this requires a lot of hard work and effort and we tire too easily.
We seek guidance and direction from self-help books which are all written keeping a general population in mind. They can help provide knowledge but each book is written by that particular author’s philosophy and mindset. Often times I’ve felt that people tend to confuse themselves and end up not doing anything at all.
From my perspective, no one can understand your life, your needs, your wants, and your desires better than you. Your choices can only be made by you and there is no judgement. As long as you stand by it and question your inner world every now and then. We often spend a major portion of our life trying to fit in and feel accepted and we miss out on the beautiful opportunity to stand out. Everyone comes with their own baggage and that becomes their belief. People tend to project their beliefs onto us and if we’re not in sync with our inner world it can be easy for us to get swept away.
I believe that you truly have the power to take charge of your life. I believe that each event and situation is constantly reminding you to check within your inner world and pause to reset and realign so your outer world is going just the way you desire.
Here are a few important questions you can ask yourself –
What is going on in your outer world?
Is this your story or have you been pulled into someone else’s story?
What is your inner world thinking and feeling right now?
How would you like your inner world to feel right now?
What is the story you’ve been playing out?
How can you reset and realign with the story you actually want and desire?
How can you increase your faith and belief in your narrative?
What distractions do you need to let go of?
What limiting beliefs do you need to change?
Take a minute to ask yourself these questions. They will certainly help you get clarity on your inner world and you will find yourself slowly, making certain changes.
